The Sathya Sai School in Uthiru
is managed and financed by the Sai Spirit of Love Children's
Home Trust, a Charitable Trust set up in 1997 to help destitute
children in Kenya. The school's mission statement is:  "To
create a Centre of Learning which
allows, through the interaction of pupils and teachers, the
development of the full potential, both spiritual and academic,
of the children of the school and the achievement of human
excellence, through character education, in an atmosphere
of peace, love and harmony." Sai Baba says that the aim
of education is the development of character. "Education
is for life, not for earning a living."
